I received the package in the mail a few days after we spoke and was thrilled to find this bag of goodies containing the following products:
First and foremost: the Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush. I loved it. I am thinking I'll do a more extensive post later about face wash/care, so for now, I'll just say that this is a great way to get a deep clean that's still gentle. I would highly recommend this for sensitive and oily skin (the worst combination in the world...that just isn't fair).

Springy Eye Duo - Summer Sunset |
Next, I tackled my eyes. As I said, I'm a pretty boring make-upper. My eye shadow is usually shades of brown with eyeliner along my lower eyelashes and mascara. But Lisa sent me the bright Springy Eye Duo of Summer Sunset (yellow and pink), so I took a little spring adventure and went for it. I did the light yellow over the whole eyelid and then the pink just on the bottom of the lid. This was still pretty bright for me, so I pulled out some of my purple eye shadow and darkened it up a bit. I really like how it turned out, and will definitely do it again for special, springy occasions, but for my day-to-day, I'll stick with my boring browns.
One of the more peculiar products was the Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator. It was very much like painting on your eyeliner, which I really liked. I'm no artist, but do feel like I have a pretty good hand when it comes to how much pressure to apply to a brush. I liked how easily I could make a realistic looking cat-eye with the brush. There may be a bit of a learning curve if you aren't as familiar with using a brush, but it would definitely be worth it. As I said before, I usually only wear eyeliner on my bottom eyelashes, but for special occasions I do the top as well and this was the easiest method I've ever used for top-lash application.
Jelly Lip Gloss - Poppy Love // Lip Crayon - Coral Me Crazy Creamy Lip Color - Retro Rose // Creamy Lip Color - Carefree Coral |
Now, as you can see, I am more than set in the lip department. Throughout the week, I'll be wearing and Instagramming a different color/crayon/gloss each day to get an idea of which ones I like. But don't worry, I'll keep you posted!
Big thank you to Lisa Lehman for letting me sample her products! It really was so fun to try some products that aren't boring for a change. To try out the products I've recommended or see them in other colors, visit the Mary Kay website or email Lisa at llehman@marykay.com.
