Organized at Work

Let's talk about some of the ways you can organized yourself at work.

You can spend some time piling the paper packs by type and labeling their new home on the shelves.
Why? So, next time you need the Cougar ... it will be there, since you can clearly see when it needs to be ordered.

You can separate your graphics into categories and keep them in layers in one Illustrator document. (Which you should naturally call your Graphics Library.)
Why? Because reusing ideas is essential to creativity...and a lot of graphics will be used over and over again.

You can divide your completed projects by the department of the project and sub-divide the department by the requester.
Why? So, you know where to look to back yourself up when some questions you about deadlines and orders and approvals.

You can sort your office supplies and store them in Orbit cup-jars.
Why? So, you can take out one at a time or more than one at time...just like the gum.

You can separate your project files by "Working" "Waiting" and "On Hold" or "No Deadline."
Why? So, you know what you need to work on, who you need to check in with to keep a project moving.

And that's that. Organizing your desk is part of your job and it's nice to take a break from projects and revisions and printing to just put things in their place. The End.
