5 Things To Try This Weekend: January 24 - 26

So this weekend, I'm going to visit Abbie in Bentonville, Arkansas. I am literally, so excited! Knowing me as she does, she put together an itinerary for our trip. I don't travel without a plan.

1. Indulge in a new crepe. I'm always one for the sweet crepes: whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries, etc. But maybe I'll try a savory one this time.

2. Collect memorabilia for a shadow box. I love the idea to keep shadow boxes from all your favorite trips. So, this will be my first box and I want to be sure to gather some good knick knacks to make it look nice and full of fun.

3. Two words: Slouchy sweaters. Or cardigans. I've got a few packed already and I'm in a comfy kind of mood.

4. Take a hike...or a bike! I'm not sure how we'll do the crystal bridges trails, but I'm ready for anything. The weather for Saturday in Arkansas should be in the fifties and I am THRILLED to enjoy the (very very slightly) warmer air.

5. Savor the #soulmatereunion. If there's an itinerary, there's a hashtag. Our long-ago discovered likeness, made us quick candidates for being soulmates. Any time we're together is a #soulmatereunion, but this will be the inaugural use of the official hashtag.

Keep an eye out for all kinds of Insta-pictures!

1. Indulge in a new crepe. Black forest ham, spinach, egg and SHARP cheddar cheese (the best kind of cheese) ...the crepe was literally to die for. So so good. And served from an adorable little food truck with a map to pin where you're from and an adorable little band, complete with accordion, cello and "zydeco" which looked like a washboard...

2. Collect memorabilia for a shadow box. I got some pamphlets and stickers and a rock. A good start I think, though it will mostly be photos that fill my little shadow box.

3. Two words: Slouchy sweaters. Thank you momma for the donation to my sweater collection with this ancient, erhm...vintage, slouchy sweater. It is insanely comfortable and was just the right amount of warm for walking around Crystal Bridges on our delightful Saturday.

4. Take a hike...or a bike! From Crystal Bridges, there is a trail to downtown Bentonville. It's like the MKT in Columbia, except much closer...less for exercise and more for leisure. We took a stroll from the museum to the strangest hotel/museum with lots of crazy art that was actually really interesting.

5. Savor the #soulmatereunion. I had the most perfect weekend with my soulmate. We had great laughs, great weather, great food, great walks and a great time! Bentonville is a fun place to visit, but it was mostly spending time with Abbie that made the trip so fun. I'll probably have to find an excuse to go back and see her again...darn.
